KRAIBURG expands product portfolio

To meet the increased requirements for chemical resistance and thermal stability, KRAIBURG will expand its product portfolio in the future to include perfluorelastomer (FFKM) based compounds. Applications include high-performance perfluorelastomer products such as seals, armatures and membranes. The compounds are used primarily in the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, the automotive industry and aeronautics.

The stringent requirements of these applications make robust seal solutions an absolute “must”. Perfluorelastomer (FFKM) compounds from KRAIBURG enable the implementation of durable seal applications, which contribute to higher productivity and sustainability.

One of the major advantages of this product group is the much improved chemical stability compared to fluorelastomer compounds. Perfluorelastomer compounds can therefore be used at continuous temperatures of more than 300°C. In addition, their good compression set at temperatures far above 200°C expands the spectrum for demanding seal applications.

FFKM compounds are most commonly processed by means of compression molding. Injection molding can be used as well.

Brief profile of Gummiwerk KRAIBURG

Gummiwerk KRAIBURG GmbH & Co. KG, a company of KRAIBURG Holding GmbH & Co. KG, currently employs about 400 people and achieved turnover of about € 92 million in 2016. KRAIBURG compounds are used in the automotive industry, in mechanical engineering, the food industry, oil and gas production, roller production and by numerous manufacturers of molded rubber components.

Gummiwerk KRAIBURG develops and produces rubber compounds, individually engineered to the customer’s requirements. The chemical or physical specifications of the finished part are just as important as the customer’s processing method: whether injection molding, extrusion or stamping – the rubber compound is optimized specifically with respect to all relevant factors. These high-quality compounds are based on standard elastomers such as NR, EPDM, NBR or CM, as well as fluorelastomers and silicone elastomers
