With KRAIBURG Adhesion, Gummiwerk KRAIBURG is expanding its portfolio with metal-bonding elastomer compounds for roller applications. The specially developed compounds create a durable bond between the functional elastomer covering and the roller core without the use of liquid, solvent-based bonding agents.
In industrial roller manufacturing, solvent-based bonding systems have long posed challenges in terms of occupational safety, process reliability and production effort. The KRAIBURG Adhesion product line for rollers now offers an alternative that delivers comparable bonding performance while providing numerous process advantages.
Benefits at a glance
– Excellent adhesion with comparable performance
– Dry system without solvent-based bonding agents
– Simple and fast processing using calendared sheets
– No drying times, significantly reducing process times
– Wider process windows for temperature and humidity
– Storage under standard conditions, as with conventional rubber compounds
– Bonding compounds for EPDM and NBR across all hardness ranges (compounds for other polymers available upon request)
– Suitable for sulfur and peroxide curing
– Electrical conductivity
– Reduced risk of errors through uniform application
Enhanced safety and efficiency in production
Eliminating liquid bonding agents can simplify manufacturing processes and reduce potential health risks for employees. At the same time, processors benefit from reproducible quality and greater process stability.
Currently, the product line includes two metal-bonding compounds for EPDM and NBR across all hardness ranges. Compounds for other polymers are available upon request.
